TOUR INTRODUCTION
My Son Sanctuary is in Quang Nam Province, about 60km from Hoi An. Out of the 225 Cham vestiges in Vietnam, this is one of the most prominent and significant centers of major SE Asian Hindu shrines, with 71 catalogued monuments and 32 epitaphs – the content of which is still being studied.
Learn more about Vietnam’s spiritual heritage and explore the UNESCO-listed temples of My Son on this private 5-hour tour from Hoi An. Learn about My Son’s importance to the Champa Kingdom as your guide leads you round the remaining 20-25 well-preserved and maintained lower temples.
From the 4th to 13th centuries this area was once the religious capital of the Champa Kingdom, the center of culture and belief, and the burial place of Kings. Set in a small valley and surrounded by mountains, My Son Sanctuary is a great archaeological site housing groups of intriguing red brick towers. Discover the wonderful history of this area, learn about the special architecture and fascinating culture as you tour the temples and museum site.
We depart the hotel approximately 08:00 in the morning travelling to My Son by car. Return to Hoi An by car or by boat (appx 1 hour boat ride).
